Are you an experinced mainframe engineer with a passion for stability, precision, and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a Mainframe System Engineer to join a specialized squad in our core infrastructure division. You’ll help us maintain a mission-critical ecosystem by ensuring our mainframe platform remains secure, current, and high-performing.
You’ll join a well-established team of ~20 engineers focused on driving platform upgrades and fine-tuning performance. From managing software portfolios to leading product refreshes, your role is crucial to making sure everything runs like clockwork.
Role
- Take charge of mainframe software lifecycle: monitor, maintain, and update key components.
- Manage and coordinate scheduled upgrades across a wide range of tools and services.
- Handle operational support and deep-dive troubleshooting to resolve incidents fast.
- Oversee platform stability, from capacity tracking to performance fine-tuning.
- Install and integrate third-party solutions into the ecosystem, aligned with best practices.
- Collaborate with vendors to guarantee timely updates and effective issue resolution.
- Participate in operational readiness and business continuity exercises (including occasional weekend work)
Profile
- 5+ years of experience working in enterprise mainframe environments.
- Hands-on expertise with z/OS installation, patching, and administration.
- Skilled in integrating and managing third-party solutions on mainframe platforms.
- Solid track record of performance tuning and infrastructure optimization.
- Analytical & Process-Driven – You see patterns in problems and can propose smarter, leaner ways to do things.
- Decision Maker – You own your scope and use your expertise to drive change and improvements.
- Technical Leader – You can take the lead on specific technologies and provide expert-level support.
