Senior Accountant - Namur

We are actively looking for a Senior Accountant near Namur.

Our client is looking for its next Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team at the heart of an innovative industrial environment.

Your main mission: managing the site’s full accounting operations

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for statutory accounting (BEGAAP), certain IFRS aspects, financial reporting, monthly and annual closings, taxation, treasury activities, and internal control processes. You will play a key role in financial analysis and in improving the site’s performance.

Role

1. Accounting & Reporting

Ensure and supervise daily accounting operations.
Manage annual accounts and coordinate internal and external audits.
Prepare the official balance sheet for the National Bank of Belgium (BNB).
Review monthly VAT and Intrastat returns.
Prepare annual tax returns.
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper general ledger maintenance.
Prepare monthly and yearly closings within deadlines.

2. Financial Management & Internal Control

Execute financial transactions required to meet reporting obligations.
Maintain effective internal controls and safeguard company assets.
Manage AP (Accounts Payable) and AR (Accounts Receivable) processes.
Administer company cars.

3. Management Support & Financial Analysis

Compile and analyze financial data to support site decisions.
Work closely with the Site Controller to improve operational and financial performance.

4. Budget, Forecasting & Ad-hoc Reporting

Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting.
Contribute to reporting for subsidized projects (local & EU).
Submit reports in FCCS / SAC.

5. CAPEX & Cost Accounting

Support the review and submission of CAPEX files.
Maintain and review cost accounting in SAP.
Calculate new costs and perform monthly cost analyses.
You will report directly to the Site Controller.

Profile

Technical skills & knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting
Strong analytical skills
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, face-to-face, phone)
Proficient in SAP (FI & CO modules) (nice to have)
Knowledge of FCCS / Oracle / Hyperion (nice to have)
Strong skills in Power BI and advanced Excel
Experience in a multinational/global environment
Assets: CPA / CMA certifications and experience in an industrial environment
