Are you a freelance Finance Manager looking for an assignment combining people leadership, accounting expertise and Finance transformation?

Our partner is a leading international organization active in technological research and innovation, based in the Brussels-Leuven area. To temporarily strengthen its Finance organization, the company is looking for an experienced Finance Manager in Accounting ad interim who can quickly take ownership of the Accounting function.

Role

Lead, coach and develop a team of 9 persons;
Oversee monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities and ensure high-quality financial reporting;
Review key balance sheet reconciliations, closing controls and compliance with accounting procedures;
Coordinate internal and external audit activities and statutory requirements;
Lead Finance transformation, continuous improvement and change management projects.

Profile

You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field and have at least 8 years of relevant experience, including proven accounting leadership experience;
You have strong knowledge of closing processes, financial reporting and accounting principles, combined with solid people management experience; previous exposure to SAP is a strong asset;
You combine strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with a hands-on mentality and are comfortable stepping into operational challenges when needed.

Offer

An initial assignment of 7 months;
Possibility of extension following the initial assignment;
Desired start date: September
A full-time assignment;
A hybrid working model with 3 days per week onsite;
Up to 2 remote working days per week;
Offices located in the Brussels-Leuven
Direct leadership responsibility for a team ;
A broad scope covering General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Project Accounting;
A combination of operational management and Finance transformation projects;
Significant exposure to Finance and Business stakeholders across the organization;
