Platform Engineer: Azure / AKS / DevOps

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join our IT Platform Team and help build, maintain, and evolve the shared cloud platform used across the organization.
You will work at the intersection of infrastructure, cloud engineering, Kubernetes, and DevOps automation. Your mission is to provide development teams with secure, scalable, and standardized deployment foundations that enable faster and more reliable software delivery.

- Platform governance
You will collaborate closely with application teams, architects, and operations teams to ensure consistency, security, and operational excellence across the platform landscape.
Role
Platform Engineering & Cloud Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
- Manage Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, autoscaling, node pools, and cluster security
- Support both private and public cloud workloads
- Operate and optimize Azure platform services including:
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure Container Registry
- Azure Storage Accounts
- Azure SQL
- Service Bus
- Managed Identities
- Contribute to platform reliability, monitoring, governance, and compliance initiatives
- Support OpenShift environments when required
CI/CD & DevOps Automation
- Develop and maintain reusable Azure DevOps YAML pipeline templates
- Build and optimize multi-stage CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
- Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes
- Standardize deployment workflows across teams and environments
- Implement quality gates, approvals, and security controls within pipelines
- Support deployment automation using Helm, Docker, PowerShell, and Azure CLI
Infrastructure as Code
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules and reusable infrastructure components
- Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of Azure resources
- Manage Terraform state and environment consistency
- Improve scalability, repeatability, and operational efficiency through automation
Collaboration & Enablement
- Act as a technical partner for development teams adopting platform capabilities
- Provide guidance on CI/CD standards, Kubernetes deployments, and cloud best practices
- Review shared platform code and ensure architectural consistency
- Create and maintain technical documentation, onboarding guides, and standards
Profile
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure
- Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Experience with Kubernetes operations, Helm, and container platforms
- Good understanding of cloud security, scalability, and networking concepts
DevOps & Automation
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and DevOps practices
- Experience with Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines
- Experience building reusable pipeline templates and deployment automation
- Familiarity with GitFlow and release management processes
Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation
- Knowledge of modular IaC design and state management
Scripting & Development
- Experience with PowerShell and automation scripting
- Familiarity with .NET application build and deployment processes
- Understanding of Docker and container image workflows
Additional Technical Knowledge
- Azure networking concepts (VNets, DNS, NSGs, private endpoints)
- RBAC and identity management concepts
- Monitoring and observability tooling is a plus
Nice to Have
- OpenShift experience
- Keycloak or OpenID Connect knowledge
- SonarQube experience
- Database deployment automation (DACPAC/sqlpackage)
- Experience with confidential computing on Azure
- Knowledge of GitOps approaches
