Non-Life Actuary in Insurance - Brussels

For one of our clients, we are actively looking for a Non-Life Actuary in Brussels.

We are currently seeking a talented Non-Life Actuary to join a leading insurance organisation. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact actuarial projects across pricing, reserving, capital modelling, portfolio management, and business strategy.


You will collaborate with underwriting, risk, finance, and senior management teams to provide data-driven insights that support profitable growth and regulatory compliance.


Role

  • Perform actuarial analyses for Non-Life insurance portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models across Motor, Property, Liability, and Specialty lines.
  • Contribute to reserving exercises, including Best Estimate Liabilities and technical provisions.
  • Support Solvency II reporting, capital modelling, and risk management activities.
  • Analyse portfolio performance, claims experience, and profitability metrics.
  • Enhance actuarial models, methodologies, and automation processes.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to optimise pricing and risk selection strategies.
  • Participate in regulatory reporting and internal governance processes.
  • Present actuarial findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.


Profile

  • Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Progress towards or completion of a recognised actuarial qualification (IA|BE, IFoA, CAS, SOA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within Non-Life Insurance or actuarial consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing, reserving, and insurance risk management.
  • Familiarity with Solvency II and regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with actuarial modelling tools and data analytics.
  • Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Python, R, SAS, SQL, Radar, Emblem, ResQ, or similar tools is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch is considered an advantage.
