For one of our clients, we are currently looking for an experienced Life Actuary to join their team in Brussels.
Our client is a leading Belgian specialist in actuarial and Employee Benefits services, supporting major Belgian pension funds and corporate organisations with complex actuarial and strategic challenges.

The company has strong expertise across Life insurance, Employee Benefits, pension funds, funding, ALM, IFRS/IAS and regulatory matters, supporting its clients with a broad range of actuarial and strategic challenges.
Role
As a Life Actuary, you will work on a broad range of actuarial projects for corporate clients, pension funds and other institutional organisations.
You will act as a trusted actuarial advisor, combining strong technical expertise with a solid understanding of clients' financial, strategic and regulatory challenges.
The role offers broad exposure to Life insurance, Employee Benefits, pension-related topics, actuarial modelling, ALM, accounting and regulatory developments, while combining technical expertise with direct client responsibility.
Your responsibilities
Life Actuarial Analysis & Modelling
- Perform actuarial calculations, analyses and valuations related to Life insurance and Employee Benefits.
- Analyse actuarial assumptions, methodologies and financial impacts.
- Contribute to the development and review of actuarial models and calculations.
- Assess the impact of changes to insurance and pension arrangements.
- Prepare actuarial reports and deliverables for clients.
- Ensure accurate documentation of actuarial processes and methodologies.
Actuarial & Strategic Advisory
- Advise clients on actuarial and financial topics related to Life insurance, Employee Benefits and pension arrangements.
- Contribute to projects involving funding, ALM, reinsurance and risk analysis.
- Support the design and implementation of new insurance and pension arrangements.
- Assess the impact of regulatory developments and changes in legislation.
- Contribute to complex projects involving corporate changes, M&A and other strategic developments.
- Translate complex actuarial analyses into clear and practical recommendations.
Client Relationships
- Act as a trusted advisor and point of contact for your clients.
- Build long-term relationships based on expertise, reliability and client focus.
- Understand clients' specific needs and challenges and adapt your advice accordingly.
- Present actuarial analyses and recommendations in a clear and structured manner.
- Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality results.
Quality, Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Critically and analytically evaluate actuarial processes and methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and quality of actuarial work.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of best practices.
- Share expertise and collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
- Participate in projects aimed at further developing the organisation's actuarial services.
Profile
- You hold a Master's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Business Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent quantitative field.
- You have 6 to 10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within Life Insurance, Employee Benefits, pension funds, actuarial services or a similar environment.
- You have a strong understanding of Life actuarial principles and are comfortable working with complex actuarial topics.
- Experience with areas such as IFRS/IAS, ALM, funding, reinsurance, actuarial modelling or regulatory developments is an advantage.
- You have a strong analytical and critical mindset.
- You are able to communicate complex topics in a clear and structured manner.
- You have strong communication skills and enjoy working with colleagues across different departments.
- You work independently and in an organised manner and are able to manage different projects and priorities effectively.
- You are strongly client-oriented and able to build professional relationships based on trust.
- You are fluent in Dutch and have a good professional knowledge of French.
