One of our clients is looking for a Pricing Manager in Brussels.
An international insurance company is looking for an experienced Pricing Manager to lead pricing activities.
This strategic role combines actuarial expertise, portfolio management, and business partnering. You will work closely with underwriting leadership to drive profitable growth, strengthen pricing discipline, and further enhance pricing sophistication across multiple European markets.
Operating in a multinational environment, you will play a key role in shaping pricing strategy, influencing underwriting decisions, and supporting the long-term profitability of the business.
Role
Pricing Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Define and implement pricing strategies across Liability and Specialty insurance portfolios.
- Partner with underwriting teams to ensure pricing adequacy and portfolio profitability.
- Provide technical guidance on complex and large-risk underwriting opportunities.
- Support portfolio steering through profitability analyses and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives.
Pricing Models & Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models, methodologies, and analytical tools.
- Ensure pricing frameworks remain aligned with market developments and emerging risks.
- Monitor pricing performance through key indicators including rate adequacy, loss ratios, profitability, and exposure trends.
- Deliver actionable insights to support underwriting and management decision-making.
Technical Leadership
- Act as the pricing expert for Liability and Specialty lines of business.
- Promote actuarial best practices and continuous improvement within the pricing function.
- Support the alignment of pricing assumptions with reserving, capital modelling, and risk management teams.
- Contribute to the development of innovative pricing approaches and analytical capabilities.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk, and executive leadership teams.
- Translate complex actuarial analyses into clear business recommendations.
- Present pricing insights and portfolio performance to senior stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration across different countries and business units.
Governance & Market Monitoring
- Ensure compliance with internal governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor market trends, emerging risks, and competitive developments.
- Incorporate industry insights into pricing frameworks and strategic recommendations.
- Support internal reviews and governance committees when required.
Profile
Experience
- Qualified Actuary or equivalent actuarial background.
- Significant experience in General Insurance Pricing.
- Strong expertise within Liability, Casualty, Financial Lines, Cyber, or other Specialty insurance products.
- Experience influencing underwriting strategy and portfolio performance.
- Previous leadership or senior technical actuarial experience is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of actuarial pricing methodologies and portfolio management.
- Strong analytical and modelling capabilities.
- Experience with actuarial and analytical tools such as:
- Python
- R
- SQL
- Excel
- Pricing and actuarial modelling software
- Strong understanding of insurance profitability drivers and risk assessment techniques.
