Pricing Actuary - Non Life Insurance Brussels
For one of our clients, we are actively looking for a Pricing Actuary in Non Life Insurance in Brussels.
Our client is a leading insurance company committed to innovation, customer-centricity and data-driven decision-making. To strengthen its Pricing & Performance team, the company is looking for an experienced Senior Pricing Actuary to play a key role in the optimisation of its retail non-life insurance portfolio.

Role
As Senior Pricing Actuary, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing pricing strategies across a range of retail non-life insurance products.
Working closely with Product Management, Underwriting, Finance, Data and IT teams, you will leverage actuarial modelling and advanced analytics to support strategic pricing decisions, improve portfolio profitability and maintain market competitiveness.
You will have end-to-end ownership of pricing initiatives, from technical model development to business implementation and performance monitoring.
Pricing Strategy & Modelling
- Develop, validate and enhance actuarial pricing models using statistical and predictive modelling techniques (GLM, GAM, GBM and similar methodologies).
- Build technical pricing frameworks by analysing claim frequency, severity and emerging market trends.
- Integrate external factors such as inflation, regulatory changes and market dynamics into pricing assumptions.
- Continuously improve pricing methodologies through advanced analytics and data-driven insights.
Portfolio Performance
- Monitor portfolio profitability and pricing performance across retail insurance products.
- Identify opportunities to optimise pricing segmentation and improve underwriting performance.
- Analyse customer behaviour, retention, conversion and portfolio evolution to support pricing decisions.
- Recommend pricing adjustments that balance commercial objectives with long-term profitability.
Business & Commercial Support
- Translate complex actuarial analyses into practical recommendations for business stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Underwriting and Commercial teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
- Support strategic initiatives related to product development, pricing optimisation and portfolio growth.
- Present pricing analyses and recommendations to senior management in a clear and impactful manner.
Leadership & Innovation
- Lead pricing projects from conception through implementation.
- Coach and support junior actuaries and pricing analysts.
- Promote best practices in actuarial modelling, data science and pricing governance.
- Contribute to the continuous development of innovative pricing techniques, including predictive analytics and machine learning where relevant.
Profile
- Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or another quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing, actuarial modelling or insurance analytics within the non-life insurance sector.
- Strong expertise in actuarial pricing techniques and statistical modelling.
- Solid understanding of retail non-life insurance products and profitability drivers.
- Advanced knowledge of Python, SQL and Excel; experience with cloud-based data environments is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and translate data into business value.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Autonomous, proactive and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues is considered a plus.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to insurance pricing is highly desirable.
- Fluent in French and/or Dutch with a good command of English.
