GL Accounting Lead | Financial services

Our partner is a leading international financial institution looking for a GL Accounting Lead to drive complex accounting, treasury topics and team coordination

You will join a highly reputable international organization active in financial market infrastructure and complex financial instruments. The environment is intellectually challenging, process-driven and international, offering strong exposure to treasury accounting, IFRS topics and large-scale financial operations. This role combines technical depth, leadership and continuous improvement.

GL Accountant Lead | Your Role

Manage and oversee general ledger accounting activities, including balance sheet and P&L accounts
Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes
Perform treasury accounting controls and oversee treasury-related closings
Prepare and analyse reports on financial instruments, FX results and treasury positions
Conduct analytical reviews and clearly explain variances to internal stakeholders
Ensure accurate cut-off, journal entries and balance sheet reviews
Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to auditor requests
Supervise and support team members, ensuring quality and efficiency
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and procedures
Identify, lead and implement process improvements and optimization initiatives
Participate in cross-functional finance and systems projects in an international context

GL Accountant Lead | Your profile

Experience: 5–7 years in General Ledger accounting, treasury accounting or a similar financial services environment
Languages: Fluent English (spoken and written)
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
