Finance Manager - International Company in Leuven

The Finance Manager will oversee the financial management of the European operations and act as a central point of coordination between regional activities and the global finance organization.

This position requires a hands-on and strategic professional capable of managing accounting, compliance, and financial operations while also supporting business decisions in a fast-moving international environment.

Based in Belgium, the role involves working closely with senior leadership and collaborating with teams located across multiple countries.

Financial Leadership

• Lead and coordinate regional finance activities including accounting, tax compliance, treasury, and financial operations
• Provide guidance and structure to the local finance team while fostering a collaborative working environment
• Ensure alignment between regional processes and global financial policies

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Supervise the monthly and yearly closing processes for European entities
• Ensure financial reporting complies with local statutory requirements and international accounting standards
• Support the preparation of consolidated financial information for headquarters

Compliance & Audit

• Coordinate relationships with external auditors and advisors
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements across the different jurisdictions where the company operates

Cash Flow & Treasury

• Monitor liquidity and working capital across the European entities
• Manage relationships with banking partners and support treasury planning

International Coordination

• Act as a key liaison between European finance teams and the global headquarters
• Support the implementation of financial processes and improvements across the region

Experience

• Significant experience in finance or accounting within an international environment
• Exposure to multi-entity or multi-country financial operations
• Previous leadership or team coordination experience is considered an advantage

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of local accounting regulations and financial reporting
• Familiarity with international accounting frameworks such as US GAAP is a plus
• Experience within global or matrix organizations is beneficial

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Professional certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) is considered a strong asset

Languages

• Fluent English is mandatory
• Knowledge of French or Dutch is considered an advantage in the local environment
